We provide high-quality, industry-led coaching in singing, acting, and dance, alongside running after-school drama clubs, choirs, and private lessons within schools. Based in Burghfield Common, our school was born from a passion for positive reinforcement and the belief that a supportive, constructive environment is the only way to achieve true growth. The care for the individual is as high as the standard of the training.
Our sessions are designed to build both skill and stage presence for all ages and abilities. Whether you are a complete beginner looking for a new hobby, a performer wanting the confidence to step up at a local open mic, or an aspiring professional preparing for drama school, agencies, and industry auditions, we tailor our approach to you. In our vocal training, we go beyond just singing; we teach the anatomy of the voice to give students the biological tools to understand and protect their instrument. Alongside this, we offer specialist preparation for self-tapes and professional work, drawing on Sophie’s extensive background in film and television to help students build a professional repertoire and learn the discipline of the industry.
At Stand Out, we don’t just teach notes and scripts; we build people. We celebrate individuality in an industry that can often feel competitive, guided by our school’s ethos:
A star doesn’t compete; it just shines.
We are here to give every student the tools, the technique, and the confidence to embrace exactly who they are—because their biggest superpower is simply being themselves.
Chris Rosser – Principal of Stagecoach Reading East
“Putting yourself out there is intimidating. In order to develop in creative ways, you need to feel comfortable taking risks. That's what makes Sophie such a great teacher! She helps students feel at ease just being themselves, so that they are not afraid to fail, and that's why they inevitably succeed. She is a supportive cheerleader for the people she works with, while still pushing them to take chances and step outside their comfort zone.”
Kathy Plaster – Principal of Dance Academy South West

With her experience of singing, acting and dancing Sophie is able to pass on her passion and love of all three to help you become that 'triple threat'."
