How much do singing lessons cost?
One of the most common questions I get asked is about the cost of lessons, and I think it’s so important to be completely open and upfront about it. I am incredibly passionate about making the performing arts accessible to everyone. I truly believe that singing, dancing, and acting shouldn't be reserved for just a few people; it should be something that anyone who has the spark and the interest can pursue. Because of that, I work really hard to keep my rates as low and as fair as I possibly can, while still making sure I can run a professional studio that gives every student the quality of training they deserve.
Currently, my lessons are £19 for 30 minutes, or if you prefer a longer session to really dive into things, it’s £38 for a full hour. I also know that starting something new can feel like a big step, and you might not be sure if it’s the right fit for you yet. That is why I always offer the very first lesson at half price. It’s a completely no-pressure trial - just £9.50 for a half-hour or £19 for an hour—so you can come in, meet me, and see how we work together without a large financial commitment right away.
I often have people ask about sibling discounts, and while I’d love to do everything, I’ve made the decision not to offer them. Instead, I choose to keep my standard rate as low as it can possibly go for every single student from day one. I think that is a fairer way of making sure the arts stay affordable for all families.
Because Stand Out Performing Arts is a small, independent business, I have to run things in a way that keeps the studio sustainable. That is why, if you decide to carry on after your trial, I move to a termly payment system. You pay for the half-term upfront, which reserves that specific time in my diary just for you. Unlike a big company, I can’t easily fill a slot at the last minute, so this structure helps me keep the business running smoothly so I can keep teaching the students I love working with. It’s not about being strict; it’s about making sure I’m here and ready to help you reach those goals every single week.
I’ve looked into the research on what singing lessons cost across the UK, and it really can vary wildly - sometimes anywhere from £15 to £35 for just half an hour depending on where you are. By keeping my rates in that accessible mid-range, I hope to offer high-quality, professional coaching that doesn't feel out of reach.
